Every VAT-registered business in Saudi Arabia is being called into phase 2 — Integration — wave by wave. Once your wave date arrives, a standard tax invoice has to be cleared by ZATCA before you may hand it to your customer, and a simplified invoice has to be reported within twenty-four hours of issue. Each document carries a cryptographic stamp, a QR code and a place in an unbroken hash chain. None of that is something a person should be doing by hand, and none of it should need a consultant.
WisoBooks connects your accounting system to ZATCA's Fatoora platform directly. There is no intermediary to contract, no middleware to install, and no second portal to watch. The whole onboarding is designed to be finished before your coffee is.
The five minutes, step by step
-
Create your account — about two minutes
Choose the Saudi edition. 15% VAT, the zero-rated and exempt categories with their VATEX reason codes, SAR, the Saudi chart of accounts and the 16-box VAT return are configured before you reach the dashboard.
-
Enter your VAT number and national address — about a minute
Your 15-digit VAT number, legal name in Arabic and English, and the national address ZATCA validates on every standard invoice: street, building number, district, city and postal code. WisoBooks checks the formats as you type.
-
Generate an OTP in Fatoora — about a minute
In the Fatoora portal choose Onboard new solution unit / device, then Generate OTP. The code is valid for one hour. Paste it into WisoBooks.
Whoever generates the OTP needs access to your ZATCA taxpayer account. Have that login ready and the rest is automatic.
-
WisoBooks does the rest — seconds
It generates your key and certificate signing request, obtains the compliance certificate, submits every required test document — standard and simplified invoices, credit and debit notes — to ZATCA's compliance checks, and exchanges the result for your production certificate. You watch a progress bar; you do not fill in a form.
-
Send your first invoice
Raise an invoice and approve it. A business customer's invoice is cleared by ZATCA and comes back stamped; a consumer's is signed, given its QR code and reported. The status is shown on the invoice itself.
One code from Fatoora. No consultant, no middleware, no second portal.
What happens to every invoice after that
| Document | Who it is for | What ZATCA requires | What WisoBooks does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard tax invoice | Business customers (B2B, B2G) | Clearance before it is shared | Sends on approval, stores ZATCA's stamped copy, prints its QR |
| Simplified tax invoice | Consumers (B2C) | Reporting within 24 hours | Signs, adds the QR code, reports and tracks the deadline |
| Credit and debit notes | Either | Same route as the invoice they correct | Links them to the original and files them the same way |
Built to be reliable, not just compliant
- Every document is validated against ZATCA's business rules before it is sent, so a problem is a message at your desk rather than a rejection.
- Our documents are tested against ZATCA's own validators — the official SDK and the developer portal's live checker — not only our own tests.
- A retry after a timeout never files an invoice twice: an already-filed answer from ZATCA is recognised as success.
- A filing watch shows any invoice still waiting to be reported, before the 24-hour window closes.
- Filed invoices are locked; corrections go through credit and debit notes, as the rules require.
- Your certificate is renewed from the settings page with a fresh OTP — no re-onboarding.
- Invoices print in Arabic and English with the QR code, and the whole interface works right-to-left.
Simple plans, sized by invoice volume

Questions people actually ask
Do I need a service provider or an integrator for ZATCA?
No. Saudi e-invoicing is a direct connection between your e-invoicing solution and ZATCA. WisoBooks is that solution, so there is no one else to contract.
Is it really under five minutes?
For a business with its VAT number, national address and Fatoora login to hand, yes: the form takes a couple of minutes and the certificate steps run automatically in seconds. What takes longer is finding details you do not have ready — so gather those first.
What if my OTP expires?
Generate another one in Fatoora and paste it in. An OTP is valid for one hour, and nothing is lost by starting again.
Can I try it before my wave date?
Yes. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, and you can issue compliant phase 1 invoices with QR codes today, then connect to ZATCA whenever you are ready.
What happens when my certificate expires?
You renew it from the e-invoicing settings with a new OTP. Your invoice chain and history carry on unchanged.
Are my invoices in Arabic?
Yes. Invoices carry the Arabic title and your Arabic legal name, and can show English alongside it.
