Terms & Conditions
The agreement that governs your use of WisoBooks — subscriptions, cancellation and refunds, your data, and who owns what.
Version v2026-08-20 · Last updated 20 August 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you (the business or person registering an account) and WisoBooks ("we", "us"). By creating an account, accepting these Terms during registration, or using the WisoBooks service (the "Service"), you agree to them. If you accept on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration details, for safeguarding your credentials (including any API keys), and for all activity under your account. You must notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for the users you invite into your workspace and for the permissions you grant them. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication for every user with administrative rights.
3. Subscriptions, trials and billing
The Service is sold as a subscription with the plan limits shown on our pricing page. Trials are free for the stated period and convert to a paid plan only when you choose one. Fees are billed in advance for each term — monthly or annually — and are charged in full at the start of that term. Applicable taxes are added where required. If a payment fails we may retry it and, after reasonable notice, suspend access until the balance is settled. Your data is retained during a suspension in line with section 6.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings — no notice period, no cancellation fee, no phone call required. Fees already paid are non-refundable, and we do not issue partial or pro-rated refunds for unused time, for downgrades, or for periods in which you did not use the Service. When you cancel, your subscription simply stops renewing: you keep full access until the end of the term you have already paid for, and you are not billed again. Before that date you can export your data at any time using the built-in export and reporting tools. Nothing in this section limits any refund right you have that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.
5. Price changes
We may change our prices, plans and plan limits at any time. A price change never affects a term you have already paid for — it takes effect from your next renewal, so an annual subscriber keeps the price they paid until that year ends. We will make reasonable efforts to tell you in advance, in-app or by email, and the current prices are always published on our pricing page. If you do not want to continue at the new price, you can cancel before your next renewal under section 4.
6. Your data
You own your business data. We process it only to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your data at any time using the built-in export and reporting tools. For 30 days after termination we will, on request, provide an export of your data, after which we may delete it in the normal course of operations. Keeping your own copies of records you are required to retain for tax or statutory purposes remains your responsibility.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Service unlawfully or to store unlawful material; (b) attempt to breach, probe or overload our systems; (c) resell or provide the Service to third parties outside your business without our written agreement; (d) reverse engineer, copy or create derivative works from the Service; or (e) use automated access in a way that degrades the Service for other customers. Our API is subject to the published rate limits.
8. Availability and support
We work to keep the Service available at all times, but the Service is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where practical. Support is provided through the in-app help desk and contact form during business days.
9. Accounting responsibility
WisoBooks is a bookkeeping and business-management tool — it is not an accounting, tax or legal advisor. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your books, for reviewing reports before relying on them, and for meeting your own filing, tax and statutory obligations. Automated postings, tax calculations and reports are aids, not professional advice.
10. Intellectual property, trademarks and brand
The Service — including its software, source code, database design, user interface, documentation, illustrations and content — is owned by WisoBooks and its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. © WisoBooks. All rights reserved. "WisoBooks", the WisoBooks wordmark, the WisoBooks logo (the monogram tile and the two-tone wordmark) and our product names are our trademarks and brand assets. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your internal business purposes while your subscription is active — and no other rights. You may not use our name, logo or branding in your own marketing, product, domain name or app listing, or in a way that suggests endorsement or partnership, without our prior written permission; press and partner use is covered by a separate brand agreement. You keep all rights in your own logo and content, and grant us only the limited licence needed to display them inside your workspace and on the documents the Service generates for you. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.
11. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and neither party is liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or data. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Suspension and termination
You may cancel at any time under section 4; access continues to the end of the paid period. We may suspend or terminate the Service for non-payment, for material breach of these Terms that remains uncured after notice, or where required by law. If we terminate without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid term. Sections 6, 9, 10, 11 and 14 survive termination.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. The version you accepted is recorded with your registration; continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel under section 4 before it takes effect.
14. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which WisoBooks is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction — except that either party may seek injunctive relief where necessary to protect its intellectual property. Questions about these Terms? Contact us — we answer within one business day.
